Changelog

One login for (Alpaca / 212) + MFA Login support πŸ”

Salam Reader πŸ‘‹

A few updates to your login and account, all good news.

Amal now supports a single login for Alpaca and Trading 212 users.

If you're on a the Standard or Pro plan, you can now switch between both Alpaca and Trading 212 Amal apps with a single login.

No second password is required, no separate API keys to juggle. Just sign in and switch if you ever need to.

Amal also now supports optional two-factor authentication for login,

If you like locking things down with an authenticator app, you can now add two-factor authentication (2FA) on top of your password.

Setup takes about a minute:

  1. Open your account go to Account settings ---> Security.
  2. Click Enable next to Two-factor authentication and confirm your password.
  3. Scan the QR code with any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, etc.).
  4. Save your backup codes somewhere safe.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from your app to confirm.

About those backup codes:
They’re your only way back in if you lose your phone.

Each one works once. If you ever need one, use it to sign in, then head to Security, disable 2FA, and set it up fresh on your new device. Treat them as an emergency key, not a login method.

That's it for now. As always, just reply if anything feels off or if you have any questions.

best,
Omar.
